What is Energy Healing?
Energy Healing has been around for many years. It is used and respected as an enhancement to standard medical care by various medical institutions including Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto - CA, Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego – CA, University of Wisconsin’s Integrated Health center. It is also used in spas, hospices, private practices, and other settings. Scientists have noted its benefits and there have been numerous articles written referencing its evidence based results.
Energy balancing modalities, such as Healing Touch and Reiki are powerful therapies that promote overall wellbeing including physically, emotionally, and spiritually. These healing techniques are often used to support healing from a holistic approach. They have proven to be safe and effective for both children and adults.
Healing Touch and Reiki are not intended to be used as a replacement for the care you receive from your physician. Your doctor should always be your first point of contact when experiencing medical concerns. However, many physicians recognize the benefits of using these techniques to support and enhance healing.

What to expect from an Energy Healing Session
Sessions are an hour in length, and treatment is confidential. The initial session includes an additional 15 to 30-minute discussion of your medical history, followed by assessment and consultation of your concerns.
During treatment, you remain fully clothed either laying down or sitting comfortably in a chair.
I will scan your body with my hands, either over or lightly touching, I will adjust the energies as needed; providing feedback either during or after the session.
You may feel sensations such as warmth, cold, tingling, or have pleasant visual or sensory experiences; It is not unusual to fall asleep and to feel extremely relaxed both during and after treatment.
There is no set number of treatment session requirements. Some people only need one session to feel the benefits. More complex ailments including those undergoing cancer treatment may require several sessions to support and enhance their cancer care.
About Reiki - Training
Reiki was developed in the 1920s by Dr. Mikao Usui, following a more Eastern approach to healing. It is based on the Japanese concept that “ki” (life force energy) flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “ki”(pronounced chi) is weak, we are more likely to get sick or feel stress; however, if one’s “ki” is strong, we are more capable of being healthy and happy. Reiki practitioners receive a series of “attunements” from a Reiki Master that enable them to flow universal energy through their hands to their client’s energy field to increase the client’s “ki” to promote maximum well-being.
